Avengers, Assemble!
The summer of Super Heroes has arrived at Disneyland Paris bringing new shows and experiences for a very limited time. We were lucky enough to be at Disneyland Paris as this event opened and have our initial thoughts and report as well as information from the Disney site to share with you today!
Hero up and unite with the mightiest Super Heroes in the Marvel universe, landing at Disneyland Paris from 10th June to 30th September 2018. Celebrate the spectacular 25th Anniversary finale with some web-slinging, hammer-bashing, Hulk-smashing action.
Today we had the good luck to be in Walt Disney Studios Park (Paris) for the opening of their Summer of Super Heroes season! With two live shows happening regularly outdoors (simply walk up and enjoy) on small stages and an indoor stage spectacular. If you’re Marvel fans and planning a trip this summer to Paris you’ll definitely want to stop by.
There is limited merchandise available for purchase, as well as a dinner buffet with characters at the New York hotel (speak to your hotel or call dining line for info), and sweet treats such as Groot shortbread and donuts at stands inside the park. We really enjoyed the sweet treats, though some items were already sold out at noon so know that some things may not be widely available.
The shows seem to be focused in the late afternoon and early evening, with the show we were to attend apparently postponed. As we are traveling across Europe and departing Disney today we were unable to delay any further to see it. A shame!
We did get to meet the Incredibles- in fact there are two super hero meets Captain America and the Incredibles. You will need to download the Lineberty app – free- to reserve a space and be able to meet them. The virtual queue opens at 9:45 sharp (Paris time) and fills quickly! At 11am when we finished our meet both said they were full for the whole day. So odds are you’ll only be able to pick one or the other. Unless you use two different phones, and book one on each. It worked extremely well- we picked the Incredibles and it kept us posted approximately how long it would be and also when it was time to head over. We only had to wait a few minutes for our turn.
Mr Incredible was incredibly friendly and fun- what a wonderful meet! I love the backdrop and the cast members were very friendly. Mrs Incredible left just before us and we were told we could wait 30 more minutes, or just meet Mr. Incredible. As we had a tight schedule today we opted for meeting and photos with Mr- so be aware you may only meet one of them. It’s still just so much fun- especially with the movie releasing next week!
What if you want just a quick bit of super hero fun? There are 3 huge statues (Black Panther, Hulk, and Iron Man) in the large courtyard area where two of the shows take place (dance off and stark). You could take photos there, with many of the summer hero signs up around the park, or as I mentioned before enjoy some cookies or donuts!
Overall this was a really fun addition to the Studios Park, and I think it adds even more fun to a day here in Disneyland Paris. Below I am recapping additional information as found on the Disney website.
