It’s no secret Incredibles 2 is coming out, and the Flaum family is really excited about it! We will get to view it on board a Disney cruise ship (SO cool!) – and yes, we are counting down to an epic INCREDIBLE vacation and summer that will be filled with adventure, movies, cousins, vacations, and fun! So how to keep the fun rolling at home and as we count down? Here are some ideas!
Quick, let’s add some…
For quick decor and ideas I look around at what I’ve got! What you see here is the table I set up to have Memorial Day through August! To achieve something similar you’ll need:
- Die cut stars, string, and hot glue
- Poster Board + pens
- Fake Flowers + vases
- Folded fabric
I am a BIG fan of making do with what I have on hand as well as quick ideas that will last longer than a day! This served for the pizza party you see here (INCREDIBLE it’s almost time for summer planner party with the girls), for our family BBQ, and will continue to work and serve here all summer long! Just a reminder that you can come up with quick ideas on the fly that neither break the bank or take time.
My favorite tricks?
Hanging string + paper shapes from the light in the dining room, and folding + ironing fabric to look like a table runner! While I do sew and love to do so – sometimes I just want to be quick and easy and just need a pop of color temporarily. This table runner is great for that!
Let’s talk incredible food…
We eat pretty healthy around here so I wanted to keep things in balance. I found a low sugar (but super yum!) lemonade and added fruit and ice to it along with a fun straw to jazz up a treat.
I also made plenty of fresh fruit available as well as a big salad for everyone – rule being salad first, then pizza! The result? The girls were thrilled, I didn’t feel terrible about the splurge, and we all had fun chatting about our upcoming summer plans!
Inspired by Incredibles:
I was short on time for this impromptu party, but I have some ideas for future Incredibles inspired meals including:
- Edna apple pie a la Mode
- Dash of garlic chicken
- Red Vines (repping Elasta girl!)
- Violet’s disappearing dumplings
- Fro-zone ice cream sundae bar
- Baby Jack Jack’s cookies
- Mr. Incredible’s strong man sloppy joe
I think “Edna Pie A La Mode” is going to be a hit! I’ll be sure to do a post later this summer when I come up with some more ideas and have some time post-vacation to carry out some ideas!
What summer plans do you have? I’m really trying to make more time for weekly Disney inspired fun dinners – or just desserts!
